The Office of Community Recreation also well known as Poquoson Parks and Recreation (PPR) is excited to provide you with a variety of programs, activities, recreational areas, and facilities as well as summer swimming opportunities.

Information on Facility Rentals and Use:

Odd Road Community Center- Residents Only

Odd Road Community Center: Reservations for Private Users to hold events  at the Odd Road Community Center. Please call 868-3580 for more information. Civic and Community Groups may resume meeting at the Odd Road Community Center. Group meetings and reservations  may have up to 60 people in attendance.  Please call 868-3580 to complete reservations requests.  Private Use Rental is $150 per day. Payment is due at the time of Reservation and only residents may rent the facility.

PICNIC SHELTERS Reservations for Residents only

Picnic Shelters: Reservations for use of Picnic Shelters for resident use - limit of up to 50 people at any gathering.  The City has three locations that offer Shelter Reservations: Municipal Park, South Lawson Park, and Messick Point.  Shelter Use Reservation Form Here

A variety of programs are coming for the Fall.

These include Art by the Month for kids, Tai Chi for adults, Lego- Pizza night on Fun Fridays for kids, and much more. 

The Fall 2023 Island Tide is now available



Season Runs Mid-December 2023–Early March 2024        Boys and Girls       Ages 6-15       Registration  Deadline:  NOVEMBER 15, 2023    Registration Fee: $95.00, non-residents $105.00   Players MUST REGISTER by the deadline to be guaranteed a spot for team placement.  Players who register late are not guaranteed placement & will be put on a waiting list until a spot if available. $15.00 late fee will apply after the deadline only if space is available. Ages 9 and Up games  are typically on Saturdays.

 Ages 6-8 games may be on Sunday afternoons or during Saturdays depending on the number of children registered. There are no special requests for rides, carpools, coaches etc. accepted- no exceptions. Community Recreation does not guarantee practice night selections- practices are held M-F and some weekends throughout the season.

*Current JV and Varsity High School basketball players are not permitted to play in the recreation basketball league.

To play above your respective age division: Players may move up an age division only at the request  of the parent. To play above your appropriate age group, an Age Waiver must be completed at the time of registration. You may only play above your age group by one year & player must be at the top of the current age group to request an option to move up to the next division. There are no exceptions to this rule. No player may play below their respective age division-unless there are special accommodations requested, and documentation must be provided. This request must be made prior to team placement and at the time of registration. Note:  In order to conduct each age division, a minimum number of participants must enroll on time. Each age division is not guaranteed and holding divisions is based on enrollment numbers. No call-in registration is accepted. No registration is complete until the registration form is received and fee is paid in full. No refunds for basketball will be granted for any reason after November 30, 2023. Some divisions may be Co-ed, depending on registration numbers.
