Appealing Assessments
The 2023 reassessment for FY 2024 appeal process will be accepting applications from April 3rd until the close of business on April 14, 2023. Applicants may come to the Assessor’s Office, located in City Hall to pick up an application or download the forms from the Assessor’s web page. All applications that are mailed in and postmarked by April 14, 2023 will be accepted. The Assessor will hold hearings from April 17th-28st. All applicants will be contacted confirming their appointment and hearing time.
The Assessor’s Office will also accept applications for the Board of Equalization until the close of business day on April 28th, 2023. These applications will also be found on the Assessor’s web page and in the City Assessor’s Office. All applicants will be contacted confirming their appointment and hearing time. The Board of Equalization will hold appeal hearings beginning on May 15 and ending on May 26.
For both residential and commercial properties, if there is a person(s) or agency representing the property owner during the hearings, an Agent Authorization form must be filled out, notarized and submitted with the appeal forms. Please note with each application submitted that a separate Agent Authorization form must be submitted, one for the Assessor and one for the Board of Equalization.
