Project Lifesaver

The police department has partnered with Project Lifesaver to better serve our citizens.  Project Lifesaver's mission is to use state of the art technology to find persons with Alzheimer's disease or other related mental dysfunction disorders who wander and become lost.  A lost person with Alzheimer's disease or other related dementia disorder represents a critical emergency.  They are often unaware of their situation. They may not call out for help and sometimes do not respond to people calling out to them.

Project Lifesaver consists of a bracelet with a radio-tracking device that allows Police Officers to locate the wearer in the event becomes lost.

The Poquoson Police Department, through the  donations of citizens and special groups, are able to supply the family and client with a transmitter and will provide search and rescue, monthly changes and assistance as needed for emergencies that may arise with your loved one.
